John Paul Jones, President of Wood Group Logging Services, based in Houston, joined Wood Group in 1992 coming from Dresser Atlas where he began his career. John Paul is the third generation of his family in the oil and gas industry with a B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, and attended Harvard Business Schools 72nd PMD program. Mr. Jones has 25 years experience in open hole, cased hole, production logging, and downhole mechanical operations. With specific job assignments in operations, sales, log analysis, R&D and management.
Don Miller, General Manager for Wood Group Logging Services joined WGLS in 2003 and has over 30 years of oilfield experience. Don began his Career with NL McCullough and served in senior level jobs in operations, engineering, marketing and sales during his career. He earned a BS degree form University of Louisiana and an EMA from University of Michigan Business School. Mr. Miller has worked in both domestic and international oilfields.
Jon Piantes, Chief Financial Officer for Wood Group Logging Services, based in Houston, joined Wood Group in 2000. He began his career at Wood Group Logging Services as Corporate Controller before being promoted to CFO in 2003. Prior to joining Wood Group Jon was employed at Howden Group PLC and Ernst & Young. He earned a BA degree from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts and a master of science/master of business administration degree in accounting from Northeastern University in Boston.
Eduardo Juri, Vice President of Wood Group Logging Services Latin America, joined WGLS in 1995 from Weatherford and Dresser Atlas where he began his career. Eduardo has an electronic and mechanical engineering degree from Cordoba University in Argentina. Mr. Juri has 35 years experience in open hole, cased hole, production logging, and downhole mechanical operations, with specific job assignments in operations, sales and management.
John Smaardyk, Technology Development Manager for Wood Group Logging Services, based in Houston, joined Wood Group in 2006 following extensive experience developing logging tools for Schlumberger, Sperry-Sun and Baker Hughes. John holds a PhD degree in physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a certificate in nuclear engineering from the U.S. Navy. His 28 years of experience in the oil industry includes seismic data acquisition and processing, open hole logging tool development (induction, nuclear magnetic resonance and accelerator porosity), and logging while drilling tool development (porosity, density and natural gamma ray). John holds six U.S., two Canadian and one British patents in the field of well logging technology. He is a member of the American Physical Society, the Society of Professional Well Log Analysts, the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
